Like a lot of us, I feel restless, preoccupied by the upcoming election. Yesterday my fatherβs cousin in Toronto texted me and my siblings to remind us to apply for Canadian passports, βπ.β π. For the first time in nearly three decades as a registered voter, I put a political sign in our yard. It was just one of the basic Harris/Walz ones, but I was excited about it. I put it on the corner, where it could be seen by cars passing on two different roads, and as I was shoving the metal stakes into the ground, a neighbor drove by and yelled RIGHT ON! I whooped back and punched the air.
