So happy to read your words again Molly! I've been following you since the first days of your blog Orangette. Now I feel like I finally met an old friend after a long time. So much love from Istanbul!
Ecstatic to be reading your writing again. Such a salve, and always with prescience in whatever happens to be rumbling about in my own world. Thank you.
I’d like to be someone who has a spot for her keys. Rather than chucking them into the abyss that is my nappy bag. On the same vein, I’d like to be someone who has a coffee order, my go to. Instead, when friends offer to buy me a coffee and I say I’ll have what their having they seem perplexed, maybe even irritated?
I remember Ben from mentions on Spilled Milk, I think mostly relating to references to the (in)famous trip to Vegas (I think on the relish episode? And hot dog episode?), and also about him and Brandon making a mess in the kitchen while cooking yummy things when he came to visit (also mentioned in A Homemade Life I think)! I love this snapshot homage to a larger-than-life friend that seems to be in that category that transcends normal definitions of friends and family. Thank you Molly! Your words are always so refreshing and comforting to read, no matter what the subject.
I too am married and have long had a best friend who is a married man. As we live 3000 miles apart, we have taken walks by phone regularly for over 30 years.
You’re back! Love it! “Friends who walk” are the best friends. Sitting around chatting over coffee is about a C. Walking with a friend is almost always an A+.
A voice in your ear
I feel like I just had a walk with you!

Thank you thank you thank you
Thank you for sharing yourself with me (us) again. It is nice to know you are doing well and hear your voice in your writing.
It’s good to have you back. I’m a reader of yours from way back and always enjoy your way with words.
I just finished reading The Fixed Stars and have recommended it to my daughter, who is experiencing something similar.

It's so lovely to read your words again Molly...you paint a vivid picture! 🧡
This was so good-thanks Molly!
Thank you, Molly. I’ve missed reading your words!
Lovely to hear your voice again Molly!!
Your write about friendship! I love it. I promise myself that, once it gets about 45 degrees here, I will begin a "walking with a friend" ritual.
I remember Ben from Megan & Sam's wedding. Fun to catch up with him via your words :)
