I don’t have a google account so I can’t access the form, but would love to get the recording, if possible.

Ugh, I recently went back on a hormonal BC because I was having a lot of night sweats and pre-menstrual headaches, both of which I've never had before. I have been thinking it might be perimenopause, but I feel too young for that at 36! I'm glad people are talking about this more- we suffer so much so silently and it leads to even medical professionals not knowing what to do!

I know of people who've entered perimenopause in their thirties! Very glad you're looking into it, Raychel --

“sporadically murdery” really made me laugh. Which is ironic because I often feel more consistently murdery. Thanks for this, the rock is indeed a little further way up the hill after reading it x

I wish facial stripes and bushy tails were a side effect of perimenopause when the rage hits. So everyone around us would know how amazing we are for not losing our shit loudly and violently while still doing all the things.

Yes! Yes! I want credit for not burning the house down, not smashing furniture through the windows, not throwing all the food on the kitchen floor…

Ditto. Also, those headaches are the worst. I've been on HRT for a couple of months now (patch and progesterone pill), and the jury is still out for me as well. I'm glad I'm on it. Some of my stronger symptoms, like debilitating hot flashes, murderous rage, and heavy brain fog, have decreased. Still struggling with insomnia, weight gain, and fatigue, etc.

Appreciate the offer of an audio prompt recording since I cannot make the community writing time.

Also, so true about the pants. Gosh, it's so annoying. I've embraced elastic ( aka stretchy pants), and it's pretty great, honestly.

Ditto to all the above, racing through jeans sizes, migraines and murderousness 😩HRT definitely seems to help, a bit at least! And thank you for the offer of an audio recording of your excellent teaching prompts.

I’m also on the Critter Eggs™️, the patch, and a flesh-coloured suppository that may or may not be making my actual flesh-coloured flesh better or worse.

What I keep wondering is if, on the other side of all of this, do we still get to be the selves we’ve known all these years? Or do we slowly become full-time versions of the burn everything down selves? Or maybe strange new hybrid creatures forged in the heat of night sweat-powered furnaces?

Any wisdom from those who have crossed over greatly appreciated!

Cackling and reminded of the wonderful book When Women Were Dragons by Kelly Barnhill - highly recommend!

“Reddish glop in a sack” made me scream laugh. Never heard a more accurate description. I’ve been on HRT since October- estradiol and progesterone- and it helps. Reading this today made me realize my headaches are also probably hormonal migraines. The worst, man!

You write so brilliantly about everything and it's really annoying

I love you too, buddy. xx

Yes please to the recording!

And ah, the menopause. It’s different for everyone who experiences it, and I’m out the other side now, but it felt like being on a physical and emotional rollercoaster for YEARS. Recognising it and figuring out what helped was most of the battle.

It’s a time to be kind to yourself. You will change and it’s not always easy but there is freedom on the other side. I feel more myself than I ever have.

Hang on in there.

Oh, man, I am right there with you. I JUST started HRT a few days ago, due to a) stupid bones (osteopenia! fun!); and b) total fuckery with sleep. I've slept better than I have in years and it's been 3 days only! I am even less of an expert than you on this stuff. But I've been in menopause for 3+ years now. Sending solidarity vibes you way.
